Interview with Nailmatic

Today, nailmatic tells us about recent collaborations, upcoming launches, and how a nail color has the power to complete an outfit.

 

OuiPleaseHow is nailmatic different from other nail polish brands? 

nailmatic: nailmatic is changing the rules of nail polish, by continuously innovating and introducing new concepts. Indeed, nailmatic was the first and remains the only one to have designed nail polish vending machines (now present in France’s top concept, kid’s and department stores). nailmatic is dedicated to creating high quality yet affordable polishes, for women and kids, driven by the sense of innovating in art and design and the simple joy of capturing the spirit of fashion. Both our lines carry unique products, that are vegan, cruelty-free and dermatologically tested. Our kid’s line is composed of an innovative, water-based, toxic-free nail polish that magically disappears with warm soapy water and an almost organic, color-free, fruity lip gloss range (the Rollette). The women’s line on the other hand is composed of 8 nail lacquers, as well as an organic nail care line, that features a 100% natural nail polish remover (free from acetone, ethyl acetate and strong solvent odors), and our BBnail line (based on the same concept as BB Creams) that offer the perfect coverage and are designed to be applied either as a nail polish or as a base coat.

 

OP:  What are the most popular shades in the collection? 

n: Reds are always a go to, no matter the country. As for the other shades, it all depends on the season and fashion trends, as nailmatic has been collaborating with fashion designers and trend agencies, adapting the colors to fit each ready-to-wear season and fashion needs.

 

OP:  Tell us more about nailmatic’s co-brandings/collaborations.

n: nailmatic has since its creation been collaborating with famous fashion and lifestyle brands, including Sarenza, Le Printemps, My Little Paris, Birchbox, J.Crew, Garmentory, Oliver Bonas, Agnes de la Fressange, Hotel W, Adidas, etc. nailmatic has therefore become a go-to company for fashion brands when they want to add nail polish to their product offering on a permanent or temporary basis.

 

OP:  Do you think nail polish is an essential part of getting dressed? In what way does it complete an outfit? 

n: We have designed our nail polish to be/become a fashion accessory, completing an outfit, so we do indeed believe it is an essential part in getting dressed. But we get that off of women. Most of them do their nails, added colors or not, as they usually feel more feminine, more in power. “Dress to impress” is a common saying and should definitely extend to the fingers and toes. Indeed, wearing neutral or flashy colors on your nails can go a long way – it changes people’s perception of your outfit, style and identity. Nail polish is an easy way to add a touch of glam, yet can adapt to your mood, style or image depending on what you want to reflect. Since nail polish is a daily essential, why not make it a healthier, safer and nourishing product? That’s what we have been trying to do.

 

OP:  What novelties are you planning on launching? 

n: In the women’s range, we are currently developing a new, more natural, organic, bio-sourced, non-toxic solvent nail lacquer formula. This product will vegan, dermatologically tested and cruelty-free, just like the products in our current line. Our idea is to keep working on developing innovative solutions that are always more natural and healthier, as we strongly believe that we owe it to our nails to treat them well. We will also be launching, by the end of this year, a fun, colorful and natural bath range for kids to widen our current offering.
