May 19th is finally the day! France is opening up for the first time since October 30th, 2020. That will be the end of the whole 200 days of lockdown!! This has been the most recent development of the implementation of the 4-step process to ease the of restrictions. Starting today, non-essential business will be allowed to reopen and the nightly curfew will be pushed back. Restaurants and cafés will be allowed to open their outdoor spaces. In addition, museums, theaters, cinemas and sport facilities will also reopen, with limits.
We are so excited that France is finally opening up, especially after such a long lockdown. We wanted to celebrate with a list of our favorite outdoor dining locations in Paris! There are SO many different restaurants and cafes that are scattered around Paris. Each has their own special allure and are amazing! These five is just a small sample of our all-time favs.
1. Les Deux Magots
If you are looking for a classic French style outdoor terrace, this is your spot! It is perfect to sip a perfectly warm coffee in sun while waiting for a fresh glass of champagne and a delicious croque-madame. It is quite tourist-y but for a good reason, it is the quintessential French Cafe!
2. Ralph’s
Stepping into Raph’s is like stepping into a perfectly crafted Ralph Lauren ad, after all they are one and the same! This American style bistro is in Ralph Lauren mansion, so it has all the comfort food from home but in the most elegant place in the world. We love going for lunch or dinner to have a delicious cocktail (the Ralph’s Peach Tea cocktail is a must!)
3. LouLou
LOULOU is in one of the most amazing locations, The Musée Des Arts Décoratifs (museum of decorative arts). The restaurant is in a fortress, looking out into a square. LouLou is perfect for a nicer meal, and depending on the season, LOULOU will unveil dishes from the French and Italian Riviera as well as some amazing classics.
4. Carette paris
Carette is another quintessential French cafe – perfect for those looking to fully immerse themselves in French culture. Their lunch (especially sandwiches) are amazing, but you have to have their desserts. It is located in a more tourist-y spot so it is often packed, making it a fun and lively place to be.
5. Le Brach
Le Brach is defiantly differently than other terraces, with an urban resort feel with an artistic and cosmopolitan furniture. The food is a really yummy modern mediterranean, with the most amazing view of the Eiffel Tower. Guests can also enjoy pastries created by Yann Brys, an award winning patisserie chef.
6. Flandrin
A beautiful restaurant, a more beautiful terrace! Flandrin is the perfect place for any time of day and for any craving. The menu has a large array of options, so it is also great for kids. It is the Ideal spot in the coveted and quiet 16th precinct of Paris. Flandrin is a must try for all those looking for some food and wine on a nice, summery day.
