Raise a glass to International Beer Day!
International Beer Day, taking place annually on the first Friday of August, is the worldwide celebration of the beloved drink - beer. This holiday is celebrated all over the globe as people gather in pubs, breweries, backyards and more. But it’s more than just a day for drinking, as it’s original purpose was to gather friends together to enjoy each other’s company and raise a glass to the men and women who brew and serve our beers. Not only that, but also International Beer Day is a way of bringing together people of all nations and cultures in one day to celebrate the delicious beer they have been providing us for centuries. Check out these great ideas on how to celebrate the right way tomorrow.
Find an IBD celebration
You definitely won’t find a shortage of celebrations happening at your local bars this Friday, August 2nd. If you’re in the mood to shoot some pool and watch some local sports games, then call up your favorite bars to see if they are celebrating any special way today.
Enjoy other cultures’ beers
It’s a big world out there, which means that you have a seemingly endless selection of different beers you can enjoy. Try out a different beer than you typically would today and you just might end up loving it. After all, being adventurous can lead to some of your favorite discoveries.
Drink with good friends
No one wants to spend International Beer Day by themselves. Call up some friends and invite them over to celebrate with you, or hit a nearby pub together. It’s easy to enjoy the company of your friends and good conversation with a refreshing beer in hand.
Give the gift of beer
You’ll be the man of the hour if you show up to your friends place with a 12-pack waiting to be shared. Gifting beer is a great way to treat your companions to something nice and also to come together as a community. Think of how great you’d feel knowing that you made his day and your day that much better.
Thank your brewer and bartender
While today is about enjoying delicious beer with your friends, it is also a day about celebrating the people who make and serve beer. So, while you are out drinking today and having a memorable time, remember to thank your bartenders and servers for providing you with your favorite beers.
