EARTH DAY : OUR FAVORITE SUSTAINABLE FRENCH BRANDS

Happy Earth Day! To celebrate this year’s Earth Day, I have found some amazing French brands that are sustainable and ecofriendly. Sustainability could mean so many things, but the most important part of being a sustainable brand is to be committed to doing more good than harm. This may mean that a brand creates their clothing using ethical production, sustainable materials, creating a circular economy, supports small communities, commits to fair pay, has no animal testing, or gives back to the community. Creating slow fashion habits is such a great way to both enjoy fashion to the fullest as well as do good for the earth. Here are some of my favorite sustainable brands!

1. Sezane 

One of our all time favorite stores is Sezane. They have gorgeous pieces that encapsulate beautiful french fashion. I have raved about how amazing Sezane is before, but over the past few years they have worked to become more sustainable. They are working to become completely eco-friendly and are supposed to reach their goal at 2022! Read more about their sustainability mission here.  

 

2. Veja 

Veja is such a beautifully designed french brand. It’s one of our founder Jessica’s all-time favorite shoe! Veja designs ecological and fair trade footwear, using eco-friendly materials and paying their co-operative cotton growers and rubber tappers between 30% and 100% above the world market price. I personally love the pastel blue and pink version of their iconic shoe, but there are so many great choices to choose from.

  

 

3. Les Recuperables

Les Recuperables is such an interesting brand with really unique items. They upscale textiles by buying vintage linens, luxury fine rolls and technical materials from French manufacturers. Their creations are therefore in limited series and respectful of the environment! They are known for their kimonos and wrap jackets which are absolutely gorgeous! Here are a few of my favorite items.
