Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I am so excited! In my family, any holiday means a big huge brunch. Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Mother’s day, everything! Brunch foods are so easy to make in large portions, are family favorites, and are great for celebrations. My mom always makes this divine apple fritter and my family loves it. The fruit combined with the pastry is sweet, but not to sweet to eat in the morning. Add a dash of powdered sugar and you have the ultimate brunch food!
My take on my mom’s traditional apple fritter is this amazing pear flaungnarde. Its similar to my mom’s recipe but has pears and flaugnarde instead of apple and puff pastry. This recipe is super easy to make, all you really do is combine the ingredients and put it in the oven. Have the kids be your little helpers and try out this yummy recipe – its perfect to surprise mom in bed with!
