Fall is here and so is your new wardrobe! French girl style is back with the same effortlessly cool approach to fashion. To master the French girl fall style, here are some tips you must follow: stick with neutral colors, classic prints, high-quality fabrics (cotton, wool, silk), less is more, and don’t forget to stay chic yet comfortable! Read below to find out our favorite wardrobe staples to achieve that French girl look!
Wool Blazer
The blazer is a necessity of the French fall wardrobe. Blazers can make any outfit chic and work with practically anything you’re wearing. For the fall, a wool or velvet blazer is ideal; pair it with a basic t shirt, jeans, and booties or sneakers and you’re ready to go! I even recommend going for a somewhat oversized blazer this season in navy, blue, grey, black or in a simple print such as plaid or tartan.
Trench Coat
A long beige trench coat is a Fall staple for any French woman. This multipurpose coat is perfect for the transition period between colder and warmer weather and even rainy days. Color wise I would go for a beige, grey, or khaki trench coat and the longer, the better.
Basic T-Shirts
Light colored t-shirts preferably white or light grey are another staple of French girl fall style. French women wear basic tees all the time, every season. In the fall, they pair a basic t-shirt with a simple blazer and jeans. I recommend sticking with neutral colors such as beige, grey, or nude, but I prefer simply white.

Turtlenecks remain one of our most favorite French girl Fall standard. They are simple yet elegant and can be layered under blazers, coats, and sweaters. Again, neutral colors are always the way to go. Lucky for us, turtlenecks come in many different materials so if you are wearing a heavier coat, you can always go with a lighter material such as cashmere or cotton.
Ankle Boots
When it comes to shoes for this Fall season, ankle boots are key to perfecting that French girl fall look. Ankle boots can be work with any outfit, dressed up or down. From jeans, to dresses or skirts, ankle boots will not disappoint.
Loafers
Loafers have been a staple of French women style for a long time. These feminine and slim-fitting shoes are the perfect footwear option for Fall. Because the main source of transportation in Paris is walking, women stick to comfortable yet chic options like loafers.
