Discover Tropical Paris
Every summer in Paris since 2007, artificial sand beaches sweep along the banks of the Seine river. This idea came to be as Parisiennes wished to avoid the hot temperatures that the summer brings every year. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to experience the beauty of Paris and the feel of a tropical vacation all at once. These artificial beaches, known as the “Paris Plages,” will be open from July 6th until September 1st in 2019. Book your travels now to get the most out of this unique experience!
Bassin De La Villette
The Bassin de la Villette is the largest artificial lake in Paris. In the summertime, the Paris Plages turn this beautiful lake into the ideal beach resort. Filled with lounge chairs, fountains, and entertainment shows, this lake transforms into a summer paradise of its own. If you want to head out into the water, you can cool off in the swimming area to take a few laps, or even rent a romantic water boat for two.

Grab one of the hundreds of deckchairs here and relax under the cool palm trees. This space is sure to meet all of your leisure needs, with water misters, picnic tables, refreshment stalls, and even ice-cream makers for an afternoon treat. In the mood to be active? You can also find dance workshops and tai-chi sessions here.

Filled with free concerts from July 3rd to the 5th, this festival is sure to be the highlight of your time along the banks of the Seine. If you canβt make it during these dates, then take advantage of the sand volleyball courts set up in the square in front of Paris’s City Hall.
