Lucky enough to be visiting the City of Lights this summer? Aside from visits to the Louvre, and lazy afternoons people watching at the café on the corner, these are the 9 activities you must try for a truly on-trend Parisian summer.
July 1 – July 16: La Sylphide is a classic two-act ballet by Pierre Lacotte that’s being performed at the Opéra National de Paris. A luxurious evening in an iconic setting – doesn’t get much better than that. Click here
July 6 – January 7: You won’t want to miss the Christian Dior tribute at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. Buy a ticket and step into the world of a dazzling, iconic designer who brought the French touch to the luxury sector. Click here
July 8 – September 3: It’s not summer without the Paris Plages. Every July, a seaside resort unfolds on the banks of the Seine – certainly a site to see. Sand is spread on the bank and is embellished with umbrellas and palm trees. Expect water sports, outdoor concerts and more. Click here
July 12 – August 20: Enjoy the open air cinema festival at Parc de la Villette. Every evening of the week (except Mondays), catch an alfresco screening of French and English films at the 130-acre park. We heard that the theme this year is cooking. Click here
Mid-July – Mid-August: Music lovers will enjoy the Festival Chopin at Parc de Bagatelle. Relax in the bucolic setting and listen to musicians pay tribute to the Polish composer. Click here
July 23: Head to the Champs-Elysées to see watch the cyclists as they zoom to the finish line of the Tour de France. Click here
July 28 – August 13: Cinema au Clair de Lune is one of our favorite summer activities. Throughout the season, Parisian-themed films are shown in different arrondissements throughout Paris. The 9 film screenings are projected onto building for an old world meets new world mash up. Click here
